Apps volume very low but Call Volume is just fine.

All of the apps on my phone suddenly went quiet. From Mumble/skype, online radio links, everything but the music files on the device and regualar phone calls are at about 10-20% volume. I have check all volume settings I can find, uninstalled apps, but it happens over multiple apps.

I have no idea why there would be a different volume setting for apps than for the phone/music and why that volume slider doesn't show up.

Welcome to Android Central! When you compare them to call volume, are you listening to those calls over speakerphone? Or are you comparing sound from the main speaker with call volume from the earpiece speaker?

It is the same over the speaker phone, blue tooth ear bud and holding the phone to the ear. Calls and music files upload to the phone have regular expected volume levels. It is only apps that are barely audible at max volume settings.

Oh I'm sorry, I misunderstood--I thought you meant that phone call volume was low.

Do the apps sound normal over wired or Bluetooth headphones, or are they abnormally low volume that way as well?

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were referring to app sounds when you said, "It is the same over the speaker phone, blue tooth ear bud and holding the phone to the ear." (Apps wouldn't play sounds over the earpiece speaker.) So I was asking for a clarification.

Wiping the cache partition will not erase any personal data.
