Apps won't autoupdate

I have a stock X that smoothly updated to 2.2 and seems to be performing normally in all respects except one. Apps do not autoupdate.

I set the autoupdate check on about half my apps immediately after the update. So far three of those have had updates, but none have gone automatically. I manually updated the first 2 after a few hours, but I have left Google Maps to update itself for about 36 hrs so far, and nothing has happened. I have triple checked and autoupdate is still checked for Google Maps.

I also have background data checked under Settings/Data Management, if that makes a difference.

What could I be doing wrong?

I thought the google maps said it required a manual update tho ,;)

Has an autoupdate checkbox

The Maps listing has an autoupdate checkbox. And I can't find a any other advisory in the listing saying it must be manually updated. Did I miss that guidance? Where is it?

I broke down and am doing it manually.

Update All does not work either. Good job moto...

Worked fine on mine.

Also, for me, Auto update works only when I manually update another app, or download something new. after that I'll see all the download icons popping up in my notifaction bar.

I looked everywhere I could think of without success. Where is update all?

YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE MARKET OPEN. do not use the back arrow to leave the market. press the home button so that the market stays open

If your in The Market and select Menu > Downloads, Update All will be at the bottom of the screen as a button (assuming you have apps to update). I've never had problems with Update All but I have wondered about the auto-updates. I think racinwarrior is correct that you need to leave the Market app open for those to auto process.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see any Update All button there.

It sounds more like the Update All button is in the context of updating all currently queued apps that need updating, not future ones.

Yes "Update All" will only updates apps when you have 2 or more updates available and it will only update those apps that have updates available. To update future updates you need to go into Downloads and tap each and every app and check "Allow automatic updating". But like racinwarrior said, you need to leave the Market open by pressing Home instead of backing out of the Market for this to work.

It probably took me 15 minutes to check "Allow automatic updating" in every app. They really need to add an "Allow automatic updating for all" option somewhere.
