Funny you should ask that. Today I went to open my Fold4 and it was suddenly stiff and would not open fully. Also, some black bristles fell out on to the papers on my desk. Looks like it is warranty time. Strange really, it is my back-up phone and has spent most of its time in my desk drawer.

When you store it in your desk is it closed or open? I usually leave it open when not in use for long time as my thinking is it's better , you ever notice when Samsung ships it in the box it open not closed?

Wish I'd thought of that. I always leave it folded. From what I have read, it is the glue that holds the hinge's dustproof bristles in place that dries out and the bristles foul the hinge up. It is one of the things that Samsung changed on the Fold5 in an attempt to stop this happening.

I've heard that also on the Fold 4 and yes the Fold 5 seems to have much better design in this regard. But yeah definitely leave it open when stored.
