Archos 70 IT and USB Keyboard

Has anyone successfully gotten this setup to work? I purchased the adapter and finally got it in and was hoping I could hook up my USB keyboard and it would work... nope... I tried to change the imput method, and it just showed android keyboard. The keyboard is a multimedia keyboard though so maybe it does not have enough juice to power it up. Thoughts?

Seems like I need to use a powered hub in order for any usb periphials to work... The mini USB does not have enough juice to power up anything I plug into the Archos.
