Are any original Galaxy Note owners impressed by the Galaxy Note?

Im somewhat impressed. If the us versions come with the quad core exynos and 2gb of ram that's a big upgrade over the original Note. Much bigger battery better gpu screen is slightly less ppi but it is a non penile screen so it will look better. If the us version comes with a dual core that is A15 architecture then it will be Ok in my eyes. But not a big enough leap to want to be first in line and buy at a retail price.

I always say, if you are looking for a smartphone that to be significantly better the very next year after is was released, then you are going to disappointed. The cycle of your two year contract seems to coincide with the leaps in specs with smartphones. After a year, the upgrade seems minimal. After two years, it is substantial. Those who bought the first Note will enjoy a bigger leap forward with the third generation Note which should come in time for their upgrade.

Maybe I should have posted this earlier but in fairness, since I started this thread, I should admit that I succumbed and bought a Note 2.

And I have no regrets. While the Note 2 doesn't have any single "great" feature upgrade over the original Note -- at least not until the multi-window feature arrives on the AT&T model -- all the little upgrades make it an worthwhile improvement to me. It's just faster, more useful and (oddly, much) easier to handle to me. And despite the lower resolution, the screen looks much better to me.

As they say, your mileage may vary, so I understand those who think the original Note is a much better value. It is still a great phone in its own right. It's just that since I started this thread on knocking the Note 2, I thought I should be man enough to admit that, for me personally, I was wrong.

NoNoiPhone4me thanks for the update - After seeing the phone several times now at the ATT store I agree with you.
