are batteries broken?

is it possible batteries are broken? my friend returned his battery to bestbuy after poor performace and got a replacement and he said his battery is extremely better.

It is not impossible to have a defective battery.

after 3 hours of use right now i am on 75% .. thats pretty standard i think.

Not sure there can really be a 'standard', as everyone's usage and settings will be different. I am happy with the battery life I get out of my EVO.

It's possible the battery was defective. It's also possible that doing a cold reboot shut down whatever app was responsible for excessive battery use.
