In my quest to find a powerful and small Android tablet, I've started wondering whether it's even necessary given that I have a foldable phone.

the fold has been priceless in many ways for usage. I can have small footprint when closed...and also have my EVEN larger display when open.. the fold solves basically every problem

I got the fold because I thought it could be useful. I completely underestimated how much. I've never really liked tablets because I'm always setting them down and having to come back and retrieve them.
With the foldable, I can carry it and always have it with me and still unfold it when I need the extra room to work with.
I have a laptop when I need more power and/or an even larger screen.

I prefer foldables over tablets more compact and use as a phone

Agree with others here that the foldable phones are just more productive for people like me not having to carry a tablet. Most previous tablets that I've owned I've sold soon after because once the initial buying excitement wore off I just didn't find myself using them much
