I like vertical apps like tiktok, however, I want to be able to use a larger device for it without having messed up aspect ratio. Any tablet that has qhd+ resolution?

I don't know of any that are QHD+, they tend to have more typical aspect ratios like 16:9, it's the phones that use a weird unusual aspect ratio. Lol

Welcome to Android Central! The Galaxy Tab S7 and S8 have 1600p displays. Are you looking for a particular price range?

I'm contemplating getting a newer tablet B, I know you recently went on a search for one yourself, what did you end up getting?

Galaxy Tab A7 lite (the 4 GB RAM version). It's fine, but still on the slow side. Better overall than the Lenovo Tab M8 FHD. There just aren't any really good options for the 8" size. I wasn't in the market for a 10-11" tablet, because I can use my Lenovo Chromebook Duet for that size.

Thanks for the feedback :D I actually am looking at the 10"+ size range, because my Chromebook is a 15 incher... just a little too big for bed use. Plus no touchscreen, it's a full on laptop lol. I should probably upgrade to the Duet myself :p

I'm sure one of the latest Galaxy Tab S series would be good, but the flagships cost so darned much. You might find some good prices for the Tab S7 or S7 FE.

The Duet line would be a good choice -- either the new Duet 3 or the Duet 5. The one caveat is that some Android apps still might not work right on Chromebooks.

They did have the S6 light positioned between the regular S series and A series price and feature wise. Also Samsung tablets go on sale on such a regular basis its almost stupid to pay full price for one. Still spendy though if all you need is a media consumption device.
