It is November and pretty much all major Android OEM phones are out for the year. I know that there is no perfect phone but I can't help but feel disappointed in the flagships of 2015. I can accept certain disappointments but some I can't (e.g. battery life). For me, I want my phone to make it through at least the whole day without concerns. I'm tired of OEMs expecting that rapid charging makes up for poor battery life. This is coming from personal experience as I have owned and sold most of these phones.
Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge - It is ruined by terrible battery life, Touchwiz while a little better is still laggy and annoying, and updates are slow.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active - This actually has good battery life. However, it still has touchwiz, no samsung pay, and is even slower to update since there are so much fewer of these.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5/Edge Plus - Main issue for me is that I do not want a giant phablet.
LG G4 - Battery life and LG UI. Slow updates
Moto X Pure Edition - Close to perfect but too big
HTC One M9 - Screen looks terrible, battery life is average, camera not so good, and even with the latest updates, it still gets pretty warm.
Nexus 6P - Extremely close to perfect but too big.
Nexus 5X - Bad battery life, no image stabilization (including electronic), slow camera, really does need 3gb of ram instead of 2gb
I know this is all personal opinion but I look at the field of Android phones out there and I just feel disappointed. Give me a Samsung Galaxy S6 with awesome battery life, somewhere between Moto X and Nexus software, and quick updates and I think you would have the biggest winner.
