Are your friends able to properly "play" the "HTC Share Highlight Video's" you send to them?

I am finding that the ZOE's HTC Share Highlight Video's I send by text or email will not "play" properly upon receipt. The ZOE Highlight Video will load and play from from my desktop PC, (hard wired to my modem) but not from my HTC One, not from my IPAD2, and not from my Iphone 3G. After opening the ZOE Highlight Video link sourced from a text message or an email, the loading ICON spins and spins, I eventually receive a message "Slow Network Connection - Click here to Skip the Video". Immediatley after revieving the "too slow" message, I tested my wireless connection speed and it was 31,651 kbps down and 5,966 kbps up.

Any troubleshooting ideas on why they will not load and play correctly?

I don't know if this pertains to your problem, but I was unable to play my highlight videos on my tv. A very helpful poster told me that I had to "save" it. I don't know if you are speaking of Zoes or highlight videos, but maybe that is your problem. After you have selected the music, go to the upper right menu and click save. Please post if that solves your problem.

Thanks for you reply- I am glad that I am not the only person on earth that has this issue (or at least has noticed it). The precrafted HTC mesaage that goes out with the ZOE's indicates the recipient should click on the link to play the ZOE- no indication they should first save file to their device....

I guess I forgot to mention that I was able to play my highlight videos to my tv after I saved them. I find that these companies don't make instructions very clear in certain instances. Maybe you have another problem, I don't know. I'm not sure if there is a difference between Zoes and highlight videos in the method of play, but it's worth a try. Also, I'm not sure that the Zoes themselves are meant to be shared on anything other than HTC's dedicated site. I haven't tried actual Zoes yet, I'm just experimenting with the automatic highlight videos that the camera makes. If saving doesn't work, I would call HTC support.

Zoes are really only playable on the phone(HTC One) and the HTC share site. Highlights can be uploaded to youtube, Facebook and more but sending them through like mms is likely to not work. I'll upload a highlight video and some zoes and share them here so you can test on other devices.

Edit: Here is one I made just now with some zoes added. Feel free to share to test. It works fine on the phones of friends I've sent it to so far. Some phones however are unable to view the pages. https://share.htc.com/tiW1UlYt4

For clarification, I am referring to the 30 second highlight videos that you can share via that HTC share site, and the higlight videos contain still pictures, ZOE images, and audio. The individual images will begin to load on a recipients phone, but they will not "play" as a 30 second highlight video. The indication is that the internet connection is too slow, but upon testing (immediately) it is plenty fast.

Are you talking about sending mp4 files or actually the link to the HTC share site?

I haven't tried the HTC Share site, but I wonder if it requires flash?

I am referring to the link to the HTC Share site. The pre-authored HTC message tells the recipient to "click on the link" (not to save to disk / device). The still images will load but the 30 second video will not play.

Yeah, then, since it plays on the pc, but not ios and your android I would bet it needs flash.

Actually, you can play a zoe. I have uploaded one to google+ and it works. It is just an mp4 file.

It works in Chrome (on my one) which is not flash enabled so far as I know so I'm guessing that's not the issue.

I couldn't play it on Chrome. I got the same "slow network connection" message he did. I don't think I have flash.

Yi! I don't understand the double posts here. I keep having to delete messages.

Ahh right. I forget the zoe can just be the mp4. When I think about them I think about the video being attached to the stills and being able to manipulate. You are absolutely correct in saying the mp4 can be shared and viewed on almost anything.

Strange then. I haven't messed around with the share site much. I did post a link to one when I first got the phone, but found it terribly slow to load and figured while it was a really cool site, it just wasn't worth it to send it to people if it was going to take forever to load.

Maybe they were just getting slammed at that time, and it is better now?

Maybe your connection is slow according to HTC? They may have a minimum dl speed the site checks for for quality assurance. I can tell you at least one person has said they watched the video just twenty minutes ago on the link I previously shared with a gs3. So it works...

I believe you, so I turned wifi off, tried it with 4g. Still got the same message. I have 4 bars on 4g. I think it's the phone. I've never not been able to play anything before, and it plays just fine on my 6 year old mac on wifi. It's the phone...
