Arranging apps in app screens

Arranging apps in the home screens is easy and intuitve, but I'm a little confused about The app screen. When I hit the Icon with the dots in the circle it brings me to a screen of all my apps that is arranged alphabetically.

Is there a way to put these in a customized order, or at least 'most recent' or 'most frequently used' order?

I think earlier versions of Android offer options.

Nope. I never seen it on any android phone. Maybe a 3rd party home screen could do that to the launcher.

Not exactly the same thing but you can create a big folder of your favorite apps and arrange then in any order you like.
