Arrive to Epic

I love my Arrive, but I somewhat miss android (evo 4g). It was nice having so much customization but I just had a ton of texting issues with my evo. Could someone tell me if there is any texting problems know for the epic and if you text more than 160 with it auto separating? Any tips will be nice

I haven't had any issues with texting with the Epic. The stock (touchwiz) messaging app breaks up the messages nicely, with a tiny indicator with #left.message# (45.2 would be 45 characters left in message part 2).

What we have been dealing with is the hardware keyboard will sometimes drop characters, and it seems to be a timing issue that our Devs are up on (type slow and steady and it's good, type fast and it skips keys), and have been able to fix in FroYo based roms, and need the source code for the GingerBread rom that is "coming soon" to filly fix that.

I gotta say that the only issue I've come across is when using a task killer or manually killing the message app and/or the google messaging process the phone would not send a text, although the recieving part still works. Sometimes it'll fix itself and sometimes a normal shutdown and reboot would fix. I'm currently using EG22 deodex (gingerbread) and I have not come accross that issue, maybe it was a bug on the froyo roms. Also, most of the time I use the onscreen Swype keyboard on portrait mode, so I can't vouch for the physical keyboard "skipping" letters when u type too fast. All I can say is the Epic is a great phone. Good luck with your exchange.
