Hi,

I have fingerprint setup with a backup pattern lock screen on my nexus 6p. I also enabled ask for pattern at boot.

When at initial boot the phone asks for pattern to start Android and then when android boot up it goes directly to home screen without asking for pattern or finger print.

i know this is not a security concern since you cannot boot it without the pattern but i want to know if this is how the system works for everyone.

Can someone check this for me?

thanks,

I think it prompts the pin since the phone is encrypted? Not sure.

I think it prompts the pin since the phone is encrypted? Not sure.

That is exactly what is happening. By default, the 6p is encrypted. When you first start it up, to unlock the encrypted phone you have to enter your passcode. If you disable encryption (Highly highly recommend against this), it will go away.

Settings then security then the first choice (pattern/pin or whatever your choice is) then choose the lock patter and you will see this screen. This is to enable it or shut it off.

But yea its normal by default
