I currently have the google search bar on the top of my home screen.

I no longer need it there because I am using chrome and want to remove the google search bar from my home page
How do I go about removing the search bar. I tried to tap it like I have with other apps to remove it but it just activates.

ANY assistance with removing this search bar would be appreciated

Thank you

The best way to remove the search bar is using a custom launcher, such as Nova. In some phones you can disable the Google app and that will hide that bar, but there's a catch. You won't be able to use that empty space and in some phones you can end up without a launcher and that's a nasty problem. So, custom launcher it is.

By the way. It seems that your question in your other thread was resolved.

It's always good to post a follow up when things are solved and to write just a couple of nice words for the help you got ;)

So other than using a new launcher there is no way to
remove the google search bar from the top of the page?
I am using google chrome now and don't want this stupid bar up there.

Thanks for any advice you can lend

so let me ask what may seem to be a stupid question...
If I disable the google now launcher ion order to get rid of the google search bar
on the top of my home screen...what exactly am I loosing?
What does this google launcher or google now offer me
thjat I would be upset about if I was to get rid of it?

Can I still perform searches without it?

ANY input would be appreciated

Thanks
