Astrid repeating tasks

When you fall behind on a repeating task in Astrid more than one cycle (days, weeks, etc.) you have to check it off multiple times to bring it up to date (with a huge lag in between each "check".)

This is no good and I hope it's something I'm doing wrong and not a monstrous oversight in the app.

Set me straight, forum.
