I just installed a nexus 7 in my car. Best mod I've done in awhile. Just about perfect but I am having some issues which I hope can be solved.

I used a Nexus 7, to OTG adapter, to USB extension, to a Anker USB hub, and then a FIIo E10K and a USB camera. I also used a ground isolator on the output of the E10. Literally the most hum free car audio system I have ever owned. The system it replaced hummed the moment the car turned on and drove me crazy.

My only issue that I haven't solved, is the mic situation. As the Fiio is connected, I believe the Nexus is trying to use the Fiio as a mic as well (which doesn't work as it doesn't have one). I've tried everything I can think of like a Bluetooth speakerphone, a wired mic into the headset jack, nothing works.

Does anyone have a solution? Unless I can get this fixed I would suggest not using the Fiio and go with a USB dac with a mic in so you can get Google Now to work.

Can anyone help me solve the mic issue? Otherwise I'd suggest another dac. (The FiiO sounds amazing)

Hi Gotincon,

Nice set up you have! How did you wire your system? I assumed you powered the OTG cable and the hub with the 2 outlets you had? Any issue with this powering on wrong? I heard that with OTG cables, devices needed to be plugged in with a correct sequence. My wiring will all be behind the dash so it will all remain plugged in. Also, how do you tether your data? Wifi or BT?

Thanks,
