I am getting one this monday. i am looking for games and good app. please help. olso should i
be looking to root it ?. no reason. just to have something to do

As for rooting your tablet, that is only something you can decide. Technically it's supposed to void your warranty, so, if that is a concern for you, than, probably not. That's not to say that you probably couldn't trick them into thinking you didn't root it, but, I wouldn't suggest it under warranty. I had to send my Transformer Prime in for warranty work several months after I purchased it, and, it could have caused me problems if I had, not really sure. Bottom, line, it's really up to you to make that decision. Try posting around in the forums to get a sense of what other people think, but, I have a feeling the responses you are going to receive will be a mixed bag. That's why I say it's really going to be up to you in the end.
