At least it's not a Note7...

You gotta wonder why they made such a big deal out of the Note 7 (including forcing the recall) when even more vapes and hoverboards have gone 'kaboom' (and yes, iPhones have exploded before the Note 7, too).

At least hoverboards are on the no-fly list.

For one thing those items are not continually in use, and within close proximity to the owner you nearly 24/7.

You haven't seen the vapes bursting into people's pockets/purses/mouths, have you? :) At least the Note goes bad when charging (not so much when in use) and hoverboards when charging or turned on, but vapes just burst randomly.

No frankly I have not payed ANY attention to vape users blowing up their mouths by doing that. sounds kind of silly if you ask me, I'd just smoke a cigar and be happy with that. LOL

I guess it is what it is... Lithum batteries blow up, there's property damage, possible injuries... etc.

There's a LOT out there on the subject though, both media and information. shrug

It's a Lithium Battery issue in general but the press loves to turn it into drama. I had a batteries for one of my construction tools burn up on me last year while charging, learned a lesson to keep an eye on them when charging and keep them away from combustibles.

You can find similar occurrences all over if you want, but Samsung is the flavor of the month now.

You'd be shocked at how people vape, our Senior Account Director is an addict, when he is up here in our Jhb office you know he is around by the constant vape smell.
