At My Wits End Notifiers Stop Working

No sound sometime I get sound somtimes I dont. I even did a master reset and its stll going on.

So it's about the sound notifications and not the notifications in the upper bar... correct??? Are you using notification sounds from your device, or did you change those and set them to ones on your SD card???

SD card tones purchased through the market.

Try a different card. It might be the card itself. Or try moving the sounds to the phone and direct the phone to notify with tones stored on the phone.

How do I direct the phone not to use tones from the card?

Use a file browser like "files" or "astro" and go to the folder where the ringtones are on the SD card them move them to a directory in your phone and then go to your notify setting and direct it to the new location.

I may be seeing the same problem. I use Handcent for text messaging and the notifications seem to be very erratic. Sometimes I will get my selected sound and sometimes not. My custom sounds are in the phone's internal storage not the SD card. Another weird thing: I sent myself two test messages from my Gmail account last night and the notification and led light worked for both. I opened both messages but did not delete them, no big deal normally. This morning, when I powered up the phone, the blue notification light was flashing and there were no new messages, e-mails, etc. That doesn't bother me as much as the lack of a sound alert at times. I'll probably uninstall Handcent for a day or two and stick with the built-in messaging app to see if the notifications are more stabile.

Yup same here. Sometims I get sound sometims I dont.

Do you connect your device to your PC, and is that the time you don't get your notifications???

No not connected to anything. Sometimes I get my selected tone sometimes not.

Tip, I downloaded K-9 push email from the market its free and it pushes almost instantly. works like a charm.

So I deleted my email accounts off of the phone and reset them up and it appears to be working now. Doesn't matter if I'm using tones off of my sd card or the ones pre-installed on the phone, both work. Not sure what changed between the time I went to bed and woke up this morning but at least it's working now.

They will stop working in time. I did two master resets and they work for awhile afterwords then all of a sudden when you least expect it you will notice your not getting the ding!

I just got my phone on Thursday, and I'm noticing this issue too. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, but sometimes the notification sounds just decide not to work. Kind of weird. I assume its going to have to be a released patch if a master reset doesn't work.

No, Its not just the tones downloaded. I am having the same problem with the stock tones. It does become rather annoying.
