AT&T - 4G LTE keeps connecting and disconnecting when on WiFi

So I've tried to search for a resolution or explanation to this and I'm finding problems that are similar, but not the same, as the problem I'm having on my S7. The phone appears to stay connected to WiFi without a problem, I don't have any interruption in whatever I'm doing, but the 4G LTE icons pops up in my notification bar almost every six or seven seconds. I can't tell how much of my data is using what connection while this is happening. It does it on every wifi connection I have had access to - work, coffee shop, home. It does it on my lock screen and I can only assume it's doing it while the phone is asleep.

I have tried just about everything I have come across in these forums. Smart Network Switch is off, I've turned off Bluetooth for extended periods of time, I've turned off the Bluetooth scanning in Location services, I've fiddled with my router settings (even though it does this on every wifi connection my phone connects to on a regular basis). I have cleared all my network settings with network codes. I have reformatted the phone entirely. I am at a complete loss. It's honestly driving me a little batty because I can't do anything on my phone without having this persistent little notification flashing at me every few seconds and grabbing my attention.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The one thing I'll bet you haven't tried is Tasker. I have it turning Mobile Data off whenever I'm connected to a wfi router. That way, *I* decide which connection I use, the carrier doesn't.

I've noticed this as well. It doesn't effect the service in any way. It's just annoying if your looking at the notification bar. I wonder if it's related to WiFi calling or enhanced LTE services

I have this issue as well on AT&T, a reboot fixes it but only for half a day or so. The problem is that it causes the Cell Standby to be the number one on the battery usage and the already sucky battery life gets worse. The hardware is great but the software on the S7 is a big disappointment.

I had this problem all day, was slowing down my phone, draining my battery, and annoying the **** out of me. I tried many things. But the thing that seemed to do the trick was the following:

I had a multimedia message sitting in my texting app that was marked failed to send. The second I resent it and it went through successfully the 4G LTE connecting/disconnecting stopped. Not sure why it would be this or if it even truly was this. But maybe check your messages for any failed picture messages. Hope this helps!

I have had so many problems with this phone and most of them seem to happen in the notification bar. Like never getting notifications for snapchat or the spotify player not displaying while in the app is playing music. Ughhh

Mine stopped it with the Nougat upgrade (has been about a month). I know that's not helpful for now given that they haven't released it, but hopefully whatever they ship OTA does the same.
