The Infuse 4G is a good phone, has a nice screen size, but it can't compare with it's brother. It's a good alternative to the iPhone 4. Now for the iPhone 4, no comparison. The Galaxy S II blows it out of the water. I'm going to even take it one step and say it will curb stomp the iPhone 5. Apple from now on is just playing catch-up to Android. We all know the iPhone 5 will be using the A5 chip and 8mp flasher. It will probably finally have 1MB of ram. The list goes on.

I am looking to switch to this phone from the Iphone 4. I just wish android wasn't so fragmented......I had an Evo on Sprint but returned it because android felt so clunky. It just wasn't up to par with IOS as far as ease of use... I'm hoping its better now because the Galaxy s2 is fricking sweet!

If playing catch-up means have the best selling phone then that's great. Apple is the company going against Samsung, not Android. Samsung has A LONG way to go to catch iPhone sells.

Ok, the iPhone will be getting an A5 chip clocked at 1gz or 1.2. No more than 1gb ram. Finally getting Wifi transfer, a media hub of sorts, a notification bar that looks like Android. Apple just gives its consumers the bare essentials. Sure Apple will sell like crazy it's easy to use. It is not very customizable, its a closed system. Android you make it your own. There are tons of choices. Last I check Android is at 58% market share compared to 28% for Apple. They are activating 300,000 devices daily if I'm not mistaken. Please, I'm tired of my iPhone, it's stale. Check out the rich and bright display this Sunday at a local AT&T store.

I've had every iPhone since the first one. The I phone is a great phone. I understand when you said you are tired of the iPhone. I too am tired of the same look I've had since 2007. I'm talking about the software. I want some new. I've had enough of my 4 pages of square boxes and 3.5 in screen. The screen is what's getting to me. Yes it's the best screen on a cellphone. You can seen absolutely not pixels because of the retina display but I need bigger. I've had a Charge and Thunderbolt and I think 4.3 is the perfect size. All this is the reason I'm going to try the Galaxy. However, if Apple increases the screen size I might be willing to go back because they are going to the cloud sync like google and getting away from having to have a pc to have an iPhone. Decisions decisions!!!!!

Your comparing one company selling a device with one OS to multiple companies selling multiple devices on with similar OS versions.
Apple chooses a older (one new model per year) a manufacturing model vs the every 90 day (assumption on this aspect) that other companies employ.
Apple may be assuming that our product will absorb the next few software updates before we have to redo the hardware vs what the other manufactures do. Both OSs are fun to use along with WP7 and this also pushes growth/innovation into the workplace.

I too am tired of the small screen on the iPhone 4 ... Love the display and the quality of apps however in reality I only you a dozen apps on a regular basis and have found android alternatives for all that offer the same functionality. I too may look at Apple again if they release a device with a larger screen.

The difference with apps it's getting smaller and smaller every year so that's not much of a selling point anymore. It boils down to what the consumer likes better now instead of a catch up game for Android. Though if the iPhone sticks with the iPad 2's A5 then that won't help apple at all against all the new Androids coming out power wise.

I'm having some trouble even thinking about parting way with my iPhone 4. I ordered a GSII for Sprint that's supposed to be coming tomorrow an all I can think is that I'm not going to be able to give up my iPhone. We will see when it gets here. Maybe the GSII will persuade me to abandon my iPhone.

Trust me, I've had both sides and can't wait to get back to android. Granted, I enjoy customizing my phone and tinkering with it and doing things stock that even a jailbreak can't do for an iPhone. But that's me. You should like it though man, if all you've ever known is iPhone then this will be a whole new opportunity for you, it will take a little bit to get used to but it's worth the switch. You'll wonder why apple does some of the things they do, like making everything touch based. It is sooo much nicer to have a button to right back where you just were in the same place on every app, and also to have a menu button anywhere and everywhere. Widgets are great and sometimes invaluable. If you have any questions shoot me a PM.

On top of all I'm looking forward to experiencing with the S2, I am really excited to see what download speeds are like vs my i4. I'm getting 5.9 Mbps down at work and around 3 down at home with the network right now and it's been said multiple times that the S2 gets a better signal. So HSPA+ should be interesting seeing how there's advanced backhaul* in my area lol.

I always ended up going back to my iphone for a few reasons. Apps, smoother OS and smoother running hardware. I have been waiting for the SGSII to release in the US since I first heard about it before it released overseas. I almost switched back to Android from my iphone4 on many occasions but I was really waiting for the phone that had the hardware and Gingerbread to match. This seems to be the phone. Now I am not going to bash the iPhone. Like others have said, its a good/great phone.

Out of the box it works, and is easy to use and learn. It has a great screen, its fairly speedy and has a ton of apps. I am tired of it though. I am tired of having the same text message tone as everyone else around me. I definitely think the screen is a bit small and have been looking for a larger one. I have been on iOS5 beta since release and at first it made the phone feel fresh but now its back to the same old story. I hate that I have a background that I can't even really see since the apps are all on the homescreen blocking it. I want widgets.

Working in I.T. I had the pleasure of testing some mobile devices. Recently I got my hands on a Droid Bionic from Verizon for a 30 day trial with unlimited LTE. I took this opportunity to put my iphone in the closet and not use it while I have the Bionic so that I could see what life is like without the iPhone. The Android Market has pretty much caught up with the Apple App store, not in numbers, but in the number of quality apps you are actually going to use. I realized I really only use 10 apps or so on a regular basis and Android has them all. I love the 4.3" screen and the phone is buttery smooth. Once I return this demo I will be dropping by AT&T and picking up the SGSII, or i'll ask my AT&T rep to give me a demo unit first. I hope that enhanced backhaul in Philly is coming soon so I can experience higher network speeds. The infuse 4g demo unit I have here can barely reach 1.5mbps in my area :/

I am in the same boat. I love both IOS and Android. I have been waiting for the SGSII for months now since Feb. However, with the announcement of the IP5 2 days afterward, Im wondering if i should just wait to see what's gonna happen before I pick up the SGSII. I love how I can customize on Android and those widget where i can skim through things. However, I invested alot in the IOS apps. So I'm not sure. I was planning to get the SGSII and the new Ipod touch (if there is one this year). But we will see how it goes.

You should wait. I really want to try Android but it's just not as smooth as iOS. I love how even in contacts you get the rubber band effect when you scroll to the end of the list on ios. You get the on every list with iOS. Take the tapatalk app for example. It is so much nicer on iOS. It's the little details that I notice like when u scroll the most recent post list how the post fold into each other when you scroll. It's hard to explain. Just pull out an iPhone and open tapatalk. The contact list does it to. Scroll the contacts and look at how the letter D folds against the letter C as you scroll up or down. No Android phone how these little details. I notice little stuff like that. I wanna try Android I don't wanna leave the elegance of iOS.

I tried the Sprint version of the GSII and I had to take it back and revive my iPhone. I did love the screen. It is the beat screen I have ever seen period. I was torn on the size. It is better for watching videos and viewing web pages but it seemed really big when making phone calls or texting. I didnt like the keyboards. Even the ones that I purchased didn't seem to perform as well as my iPhone. The battery life was good for an Android device but not as good as my iPhone. Also, Sprint's coverage was poor in my area even though their coverage map said that it was good. I just like my iPhone better. But the SGSII is really an awesome device. The best Android device in my opinion.
