AT&T Galaxy S4 - messaging app not show #

Hi all, my messaging app works, but does not register number of texts anymore. It os the one came with phone. I have to open it to see if have text. No more red circled #
Turned off app - turned on. Still same

Please help.

Well I found out problem. If ATT message app is loaded. Dont set to receive notifications in settings. It will override vanilla messaging app.
