After I applied the update, I got the notification which I swiped it away. It only occurs at start up. Once swiped away, never shows back up. Called AT&T tech support who is researching. Suggested that I try the Samsung rep and GEEK SQUAD In Best Buy about the issue. It sounds like it's going to be an exchange. Any thoughts?

I'm on Verizon and I get the notification every time I reboot. It's annoying, but I just swipe it away. I think if you get the exchange, there's a good chance it will do the same thing.

Exchange for that? How often do you reboot that its such a hassle?

It is on mine too. You can disable it with package disabler though I don't recommend it.

This isn't exclusive to the AT&T model — all GS7s will (well, should) notify you that there's an SD card in the phone whenever you place the card in or reboot the phone with the card in. An exchange isn't going to change anything, they all do it — this isn't a bug.

I guess I'm not understanding what your desired function would be — the notification never show up? Or the notification be permanent?

I don't see an exchange or anything helping with this. This was done by Samsung on purpose.

Thanks for the quick replies. I wanted to get feedback before going through the hassle. I just didn't want to get stuck with a lemon as I tend to be an early adopter rarely having any issues.

I turn it off to charge and crank it on first thing in the morning. It really isn't a big deal. I just wanted to avoid any potential hardware or firmware issues.

It was just coincidental that the issue did not occur prior to the patch being applied?

Same I get the notification each time I reboot, seems normal to me to be alerted that I have an SD card in the phone.

Coming to the conclusion that it's not an issue. Doing an exchange and setting up a new device seems like a hassle.

One day I may snag a SD card and put it in .. Maybe when I go on a trip? Till then I just use my data to stream everything.

It's not just when you reboot. It happens to me sometimes when i wake up the phone. Not after a power off or anything. It's a totally useless message besides. It tells me I have an SD card, I suppose, but I already knew that. Mine is mostly empty and requires no action.

Press and hold the notification and choose to block it. That should keep it from returning.

Im getting this notofocation everyday. Finally today it stopped recognising the card all together by saying card is corrupt and needs be formatted. Card works just fine in my mac

My notification has been popping up since I got the phone(only after power-up).. I just had my phone repaired at Samsung and returned a few days ago. still does it. So I too think it was done on purpose, like a start up check
