Hi all,

Just registered on Android Central since I'm buying my first Android device. I'm currently on AT&T with an iphone 4s with a grandfathered unlimited data plan. My question is, will my micro sim plug-and-play with the N5? I don't really mind not having LTE either. Or do I have to have AT&T change me onto a non-iPhone LTE data plan? I would like to keep the grandfathered plan if possible.

I've searched many places for answers but can't seem to find my exact use case.

Thanks!

It is plug and play, but from what I have heard they start texting and emailing saying you have an LTE phone lets look at our plans!

But at the same time I went from a iPhone 4 to 5 on the unlimited and got the LTE upgrade with no cost. Then today they just moved the plan from my iPhone to the N5 and am good to go.

I would just go into the store and ask! The worst thats going to happen is that you will walk out and not get LTE. But I don't see why they wouldn't let you.

The thing that happened with me before is your plan needs to be provisioned for the data radio you will be using ie LTE otherwise you may not be able to pull data. You get to keep your unlimited data they just need to have you on a non-iphone plan.
It should be a fairly simple thing.
