AT&T LG G3 D850 Lollipop update breaks wireless charging

I started having problems with my LG G3 disconnecting spontaneously when I placed my PMA Quickcircle case on my Duracel PMA charger at night right after the update. It has made both my PMA chargers useless. I tried a factory reset twice without any joy. Yesterday, I brought it to an AT&T service center and they don't know what to do either. I am getting a replacement LG G3 in 4 days from them. Hopefully this takes care of it. I got mine the first week that it was available. Hopefully this bug only affects the earlier batches. I can't imagine that they didn't run a test on if PMA charging will work before they sent out the upgrade. We will see. At least, I got a new (hopefully not refurbised) G3 for my troubles.

Don't hold your breath. Have the same problem with my LG G3, and if you Google "Lollipop wireless charging", you will find posts indicating that the problem exists on other phones and other charging systems (Qi).
AFAIC, this fiasco was a blessing in disguise. When the PMA Duracell charger and my Quick Circle case "worked", it was less reliable than I liked. Had to carefully find the sweet spot to place the phone on the charger, or it wouldn't work. Many times I woke up to a battery that was somewhat less than 100% charged, since the pad didn't seem to keep the battery topped off. Now I just plug in a charger, I always get the red LED indicating charging, and always have a battery at 100% in the morning. With the way my LG G3 goes easy on the battery, I never have to recharge it during the day.
I did find some posts indicating that a software upgrade ending in 20H (in European countries) fixed the charging bug in Lollipop, but even if it becomes available on AT&T, I doubt that I will go back to wireless charging.

I got the replacement LG G3 from ATT. It's a refurbished. But, now my chargers work again. Yah! It still doesn't display that it's charging on the Quick Circle window. But, it charged all the way to 100% last night. You might want to call ATT if you are having the same issue as I was.

What OS is on your replacement phone? 5.01 or 5.1?

Ok, odd. It worked great last night. Maybe, I had knocked it off in my sleep the night before. I will keep you posted. Hopefully this is fixed. I really do like lollipop and I would hate to have to go back to Kit Kat.

Much joy today. AT&T just sent out an OTA update that fixed the wireless charging problem that has plague me since lollipop update. If you are having this problem, go ahead and pickup the update now!

I know this has been posted ,but the LG G3 which had it's PMA wireless charging knocked out by Lollipop is now working because of the new 173.xx MB update a few days back. Today is 5-8-15 and my PMA is working now . It was getting frustrating paying 50 some odd dollars for a case that was useless. IMO the kind of slipped the fix in without admitting there was a problem . We people who bought the tools to wireless charge with know it. They have fixed it without ever admitting there was a problem . I can not understand why the didn't just go with the Qi which is kind of the standard these days .

Do you get 100% in the morning when on the pad overnight or somewhat less as was the case before Lollipop?
My practical side tells me fugetaboutit, as I am content with the reliable connection of a plug-in charger that always provides 100% charge in the am. My geek side wants to try wireless charging again. But I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer as I've switched to Cricket where we will probably be last or never see any upgrades.

Yes, I get 100% every morning now. All is good with wireless charging now. I almost rolled back to Kit Kat because of the bug.

Same phone. Didn't have those problems but after moving up to lollipop started overheating all the time because of a hotter chipset that's faster and overclocked CPU because of AT&T's snd googls bloat and malware. BUT since i rooted MY phone. I say mine as i can do what i want to because i own it.. Is by far the best phone ive had. Love it. Just got to break up with them and google. .. ...delete their crap. My phone is fast and stays charged and i don't jave google recording my every move. EVERY. Look it up. Its a job to get there but you can and delete them. Every call.text search location. Spooky.
