At&T missing settings...

Hello everyone,

I have a simple question that many of you veteran android users may be able to answer quickly. I'd rather ask you guys who are experienced than waste time and energy searching after the golden fleece. I'm using AT&T wireless and I just had my new Galaxy Note 3 arrive yesterday. (It is absolutely amazing, BTW) The questions is: Are there settings that are missing from the Note 3 which is provided through our American carriers versed the stock devices that can be purchased overseas? Watching many of the reviews on YouTube (mainly from UK and India), it seems that they have more setting options in the general settings than I do. For instance, for the life of me I can seem to find a way to enable multiple widgets on the lock screen, or add lock screen apps, or use "ink effects". Am I simply so new to android (previous iPhone user 6+ years) and missing something dreadfully obvious or has AT&T disabled changing some features that would have come stock from Samsung? Any help would be great.

I'm still getting use to android and the complex settings menu. I had a numeric lock on the lockscreen which disabled the other features I wanted.

I don't think we've lost many. Just discovered we don't have a way to change the S-voice wake up command..... a slight disappointment. It's probably too late now, but during set up there were a lot of messages warning me that if I turned X on, it would disable Y. My first instinct was to check don't show this again and move on. But as it got more complicated and I realized a month from now I won't have a clue what might cause a conflict I started to not check that box so they'll remind me again. Enjoy the exploration! When you get stuck, you can always ask on here!

Just to make you feel better, you're not missing much with the custom wake up feature. If only Samsung could have taken a bit better notes from Motorola on that one. I really wish they'd drop crappy S Voice and play better with Google Voice.

they lock out the setting where you can set the devise to 3g only

To change the wake-up command "key words" you can't have your phone set to anything other than "swipe" for your lock screen. If you set it to PIN, Pattern, Password, etc. the ability to change the various wake-up commands (4 different voice settings, I think) disappears. I'm sure this is an oversite on their part and wil be addressed in future updates. I messed with this for hours until I stumbled across this.

Or it is by design because you have enabled security on the device.
