AT&T Moto X missing Google Apps

Not quite, but my wife's brand new Moto X on AT&T had all old Google apps and no notifications for updates, even after the first system update. In fact, they weren't even listed under 'My Apps' in the Play Store.

We tracked them down one by one and updated them manually; now they're listed.

This has never happened to me across three phones and three tablets.

Any ideas?

Most of the time, in my experience, a preinstalled Google app that has never been updated won't show up in the Updates list. I've had to manually search for the Google app, and tap the Update button that appears on the app page. Once it has been updated, further updates will cause it to show up in the Updates list. Slightly annoying bug, but easy to overcome.

It sounds like only apps that you have "purchased" will be updated. Since the Google Apps were preloaded, they are not considered purchased. Free = purchased for $0.
