So I bought a Nexus 6 from ATT in December, so last month I was having the reboot problem. I send it back to motorola and they send me a new phone.

The phone originally bought from ATT had the ATT logo and the ATT gingle when booting up, now the one from Motorola has the ATT logo but when booting up no ATT gingle...isn't that weid? I wonder if its unlocked as well?!?! Hmmm!!

Did it have a T-Mobile chip in it and new in the box sealed? If so it may be.

the unlocked phones from moto and google have a Google splash screen on startup. If you still get an AT&T splash on startup I doubt it is one of the pure phones.

Maybe it's a refurbished phone and the original owner rooted the phone and removed the obnoxious jingle. If it turns out to be in good working order, then I'd say you got a good deal. Actually, the only reason I call the jingle "obnoxious" is because there is no way to silence your phone and have it stay silenced when rebooting or restarting. It's beyond me how AT&T cannot understand that there are numerous situations when a person might need to turn their phone on (or reboot) but it would not be appropriate to have an audible intrusion. A couple examples: At a movie, I realize I need to turn my phone on (vibrate only) in case of emergency involving my disabled child (not a far-fetched concern) or during meetings when I realize I need to turn on my phone (again, vibrate only) for the same reason.

In fact, that reminds me---we need a silent mode, Google! Or a way to make the vibrate quieter. Most of us have busy lives, with multiple work and family commitments that we must juggle but would like to do quietly without disturbing others.

Well, I am happy that ATT jingle is there no more...Refurbished or not phone is working like its brand new....5.1 also make it smooth as hell.....Moto is boss!....

@Sullie714 nothing with ATT shows at startup just the google splash.

Congrats! Maybe you got a GPE---whatever it is, it's working well and no AT&T intrusions.

Pure phone never heard of that.... There All Nexus either u had $700 to buy from Google, Motorola or u got it from carrier on affordable payment plan

Maybe I misused the term "GPE." I was simply referring to the fact that it sounds like OP got a carrier-free phone, as if it had been bought directly from Google or Motorola. Either way, sounds like a good deal!

I got mine for free from Motorola. I sent in my 2013 Moto X Developer's Edition an NBS they had none to try replace it. So they offered me a new in the box Nexus 6 with the T-Mobile chip in it.
