Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

One person reported in a blog that he had received the OTA 5.1 from AT&T and, since then, I've read numerous reports referring to that blog indicating that the OTA release of 5.1 from AT&T is rolling out. I have yet to find anyone else who has received it. That doesn't mean they haven't---but no one has reported it anywhere I've looked.

Anyone have the AT&T nexus 6 forums link for 5.1 update? Still waiting on OTA myself.

I saw on XDA that ATT was rolling out the D update which is out in OTA. I side loaded last week. I also flashed the E update but went back to D because I thought it had better reception.

I am on ATT so I hope it is the D update because it works very well so far.

Wish I had a computer, the sideload thing would have been done, probably take another three weeks. Att is the slowest out of any carrier!

Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

Got a quick question, about updates. My last Nexus was the Galaxy Nexus (a Nexus that isn't a Nexus) so I ordered direct from Motorola and will be using an AT&T SIM. So I suspect I will get my updates from Google, Motorola or side loading unless I want to use the "optimized" A&T one, which I suspect is not really optimized.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mines directly from Motorola and on AT&T Mobility, only issue is OLAM, it shows a generic phone although AT&T scanned the barcode. OTA to 5.1 today. Location: Honolulu, HI

I bought direct from google but use a ATT Sim also. Two ATT apps still get loaded on a reset. You can delete them and not just disable. I side loaded D as soon as the OTA package came out. Very nice and smooth on my Nexus.

Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

My understanding was that Nexus devices get priority when it comes to updates? I'm so annoyed with how this system works right now. I'm suffering WiFi problems, battery issues and my phone randomly shutting down while I'm using it (happened twice this weekend alone, once while I was on a call! Imagine that obnoxiously loud start up noise against your ear). I just don't understand how AT&T is in charge of rolling out the update when it has nothing to do with the service provided and everything to do with the functionality of the phone's software. Plus the fact that I'm having serious issues over here, but I have to wait for AT&T to get around to it. Probably because some new phone is coming out soon, or just came out, so they don't want to lose sales to the Nexus 6 with the new 5.1 update. This whole thing is ridiculous. I thought Nexus devices received updates first?

Side note, does anyone else experience a graphical glitch, when spelling a word wrong and then selecting it in order to change to the correct spelling, the menu is now for some reason being hidden behind the keyboard, and I can't actually select another option. It's like the drop down menu for some reason is getting pushed to the front

Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

I'm waiting for that update too! I'm going to AT&T tomorrow to get a new sim card for my Nexus 5 to use till the update comes out and throw my Nexus 6 in a drawer till then. Crappiest phone I have ever owned! Mine reboots once a day or more and now I am getting the "andriod.process.acore" error pop up now and then I can't make phone calls and most incoming calls go straight to voicemail.

Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

I'm starting to think that all those articles stating that Android 5.1 is rolling out to AT&T customers should say it is "allegedly" rolling out.

Ya, getting annoyed... Articles are 2 to 3 days old. 75% of the N6 owners thru at&t should have it....

Re: At&T OTA rolled out ..

I know this does not help when you are feeling impatient, but it takes several weeks for updates to roll out to your nexus. Seems like it used to be faster but things have slowed down. The Nexus still gets updates before pretty much other phones. Many non Nexus brands are just now getting lollipop. A certain % of phones will get the updates and it increases as the days go by. If you hit check update and do not get it the chances of getting it for that day are almost 0%. Lots of other tricks etc to try and get the update pushed to your phone, some work, some are iffy.

I too was getting impatient back in the Nexus 4 days so I learned to side load OTA's and to flash factory images. The hardest part of that process is getting the computer to recognize the drivers and if you can do that the rest is so easy. Lots of videos showing the process also. It might be worth checking out since it seems it does take longer and longer to get the updates.
