AT&T s4 active with no group messaging option or capability?

I have had my s4 active for a while now and have never been able to use it to group message. I've searched in the message settings and I don't have a group message setting to activate. I've checked to make sure my software is up to date. Has anyone else had this issue? I used to use go sms pro to group message, but then when the app updated it stopped working and I would receive everything in individual texts again. When my friends try to group message me from their iphones all it does is send me individual texts from all the included people. If i create a message with multiple recipients it just sends individual messages to them. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try... messaging > settings > Check "Group Messaging"? Not sure if it will work since it is listed under MMS settings but I think it should.
