AT&T Store says I have to wait until tomorrow

I finally called my AT&T store where my phone was delivered this morning. I told the rep who answered that I had pre-ordered the Atrix, I saw that it arrived and I wanted to pick it up this afternoon. He said "We don't have any pre-ordered in yet." I said actually I have the tracking number and it says it was delivered this morning. So he puts me on hold.

Paraphrasing: "Yeah, we have your phone but my manager says we can't give it to you until tomorrow."

Me: "Why?"

Him: "Because it doesn't officially launch until tomorrow and [some BS about IMEI numbers] and we could get fined for activating it early."

I hung up. What a load of crap. So, anyone else getting screwed over by their AT&T store?

There have been posts on their facebook... I believe one was linked in the feb. 22nd thread? Just look around, It was news on a ton of sites.

Not so sure that they'll care George. I know that Seth Bloom specifically tweeted that pre-ordered would be available on 2/21 - but can the store just make up a lie like this to keep me from getting the phone? I mean, they could have come up with something better than getting fined for activating today.

It must be tough for these giant, faceless corporation now that consumers can be informed and we don't have to just believe any lie fed to us.

I got my fone on Sat...Sun I stopped by an ATT store to check out some accessories and they would not sell it to me....im like wtf!!??
I can understand the fone not being release, but accessories too?

Ppl in the store couldn't believe i've gotten my fone already.
