I have Verizon now. I've always had Verizon. I know each carrier has its pros and cons but I would like to know what some differences are. I'm planning on switching to T-Mobile soon because of their unlimited data and no contacts.

T-Mobile appears to have the edge in price. But how is service in your area?

As far as personal experience I like verizon.. its more expensive than I used to pay w t mobile but the coverage is better. I had t mobile and the only reasin I switched was t mobile quit working n my area one day.. all at once. I went months w crappy to no service. They kept telling me they were looking into it. I couldn't even make a call from my house. I found out later something had messed up that they were nit going to fix. So I switched to verizon.
People complain about verizon but to be honest other than bloatware on the phone the company has always treated me good. Ill never go back to t mobile.. they had their chance.. to this day t mobile is still messed up in my area and they deny there is an issue

If there is good tmobile coverage in your area then go for it. The plans are definitely cheaper. I switched from VZW to Tmo. My coverage at home and work is great. My work place has LTE which means my home should be getting it soon.

I always have really good service with Verizon but T-Mobile has unlimited data and no contacts and I know they did some major upgrades to their networks.

I would suggest installing CellMaps (there are free and paid versions) and checking coverage.

Does T-Mobile have great service in your area? That's probably the most important consideration. If so, it sounds like the value is obvious.

Find a friend with Tmo and try out their phone. That's what I did before switching. My friend has a GS2 and let me play with it. I tested Tmo data speeds and saw that it would average around 10 Mbps down. And I watched YouTube videos to see if there was any buffering. There was but it wasn't too bad. So that made me switch.

It's only $40 to try out T-Mobile for a month, and you can pretty much pick up the kit any Walmart.
