I may have missed the thread if this subject has already been mentioned.

AT&T can remote into your N4 if necessary. Very cool IMO, as high a level of tech support as your PC/Mac.

I had that done with my Verizon s5. Creepy and cool at the same time.

Yes the carriers can do this on newer phones

Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4

They can see what apps you have installed, when you last did factory reset, and probably if your rooted or not. This is good and bad at the same time.

Yup, this!

I politely declined them being being able to do this by turning off Verizon "support and protection."

They can remote in and take your hands free headset. Oh wait...that was just them ripping open my Samsung box, pillaging my belongings and putting the scraps in an ugly orange box. No remote needed.

Yup! First thing I did was disable all VZ apps and then used the debloater on XDA to further disable everything else I don't need or want. When I called VZW to get a replacement warranty device there was no problem as the kind rep seemed to automatically assume I knew what I was talking about and they didn't even bother with the pointless troubleshooting dance, offered a warranty replacement right away..
