I have been living about 15 miles outside of town and had great reception, I moved into town and now data only works occasionally and calls don't work hardly ever.
I don't know where closest tower is, is there a setting I need to do to on my phone to get better reception? I'm not talking about Security update.
or is only option is to check with Att store? And see if I'm to far from tower.
Anyone had a problem like this?

Couple of things before going to AT&T just so you’re better prepared. Is your device the official AT&T version? If yes, try putting your device in airplane mode and leave for about 30 seconds. Turn airplane mode off and see if reception any better? If nothing really better, make sure your device is provisioned for VoLTE properly by calling AT&T support. If your device isn’t AT&T originally sold and supported, then you’re lacking full support for all of AT&T bands and/or maybe lacking VoLTE support. Lastly, it could be your specific location just isn’t AT&T optimized and they’re relying on someone else’s towers instead of their own.

thanks, yes my phone is att phone.
I think it's last thing you said,
no tower close. But not sure, would love to know, who's tower is close.
It's helps some if I turn on Wifi calling.
just didn't know if there was a setting in the phone that might help.
thanks.

One more thing (like Colombo), switching to AT&T 5G phone and AT&T 5G plan might show that’s where AT&T has focused in addition to VoLTE optimization that’s not as effective on your current device. I’ve had this happen on some 4+ year old AT&T devices lately.
