AT&T update tonight

Now says software version 9 with security patch April 1, 2019. I had just placed the phone on the charger when the update notification appeared. Almost immediately the phone restarted and quickly finished the update. I didn't get to see the size, but I thought it was just a security patch until I checked and noticed the software version is now 9. Dunno. Maybe it downloaded in the background while on the charger.

Let us know what useful/new features you received. I knew Verizon users were supposed to be receiving the update but hadn't heard anything about AT&T. T-mobile, which I'm on, is supposed to be getting it as it is in the final testing stages according to their support page but who knows when that will be.

got the update on att. can only reply to this forum in landscape mode. this app needs to be updated.

I only use the LG 40 at home as my music device and a few phone calls. I honestly don't see anything different at all so far. Everything looks the same to me. If I hadn't noticed the change in version number, I would not have thought anything was updated at all. I guess we'll have to wait for other AT&T users to chime in that are more familiar with the phone.

Welcome. I have it set for the volume buttons to show one volume slider for music, video, games and other media. It does not show a toggle for sound vibration and mute like the Pixel 3 except for the pull down from the notification bar.

You have to change settings to see the new pill home button and the new recents screen. LG made it goofy.

Thanks, Greymire. I knew gestures was off by default. At first the clear all button wouldn't respond, but a reboot fixed that.

Thanks for pointing this out. It's not enabled by default on the V50 either, which comes with Pie out of the box. I thought I didn't have the new buttons because I use Nova Launcher, but I just needed to enable it in phone settings.
