ATRIX 2 "Camera unable to initialize"

I have had this Atrix 2 for a few months and have used the camera on a regular basis. It has worked fine until today, now when I attempt to launch the camera app it freezes then shuts the app after giving the error message "camera failed to initialize". I have taken the battery out twice and it has not helped. I'm not crazy about doing a factory reset and losing everything. Any suggestions appreciated.

One thing that might help is trying to force stop the camera app and than clear data.

You can do this by going into settings/manage applications/all applications and locating camera app.

I had the same problem just now. I powered my AT&T Atrix off and then on and the camera started working again.

I would take it to a AT&T corp office and have them look at it, you have a warranty on it. I may be a bad phone or you may have to do the reset, and start over.
