I had my phone charged to 100% this morning after using it ONLY for making couple of phone calls for 1hour. 0min 17seconds, my battery went to 70% Is that normal? or should i exchange my phone? This device advertised as a 9 hour talk time and it looks like with the results that i am having it would last me only 3 1/2 hours..... Am I missing something here? or i should take it back to ATT store.... thanks! BTW, my last day to exchange it is april 7th.
your comments and suggestions would be really appreciated!

the motorola tech support is just not helpful at all, i have a feeling they just read me general technical guidelines, they guy said i should take out the battery for 2 minutes and put it back again and then observe how the phohe will act.. i've had this phone since the 7th of march and took out the battery many times... what a joke......

The amount of battery used sometimes depends on the other things you have running and signal strength - maybe you could look into turning off as many apps/GPS as possible? I make similar calls at night and I wouldn't say mine drops 30% after only an hour of talk time. I have had similar experiences with Motorola Tech Support...battery pulls don't solve everything...

here are the stats i've recored before calling to motorola tech support:
phone unplugged for 3h 54m,
Voice calls: 66% used for: 1hour. 0min 17seconds
Display 18%
the rest is Android OS 3%, Phone idle 6% and Android system 3%
No GPS WIFI Bluetooth are running......
no apps are running either....

9 hour talk time rating is a joke.

Voice calls kill the battery on this phone. It's not a faulty battery or phone, they're all like this.

People will chime in about great battery life, but those people don't make many phone calls on the device.

By the way, the general rule for my phone, as I've noticed after 6 weeks, the battery loses about 10% per hour, seemingly no matter what I do with it. Voice calls and display are always the battery hogs according to the battery manager.

Sublime thanx for your feedback! I wasnt sure if i had to go and exhange my phone tomorrow... aside of the fact that it discharged so quickly today, the phone seems to be performig OK i can make about 9 hours out of it with a moderate use ( gaming websurfing and whatnot) so concidering that i have two spare batteries with me it shoukd be OK then... i rearely make long phone calls usuallynot more than 15 mins.
But i really dont see ANY and i mean ANY improvements at all with the update.... so WTH was this update about anyway....
Thanks guys! I just wont bother taking it back to the store, because i just not sure that the next phone will be any better than this or even worse...

true I'm one of those people that you call and call and I will never pick up i hate talking on the phone.I even state iton my voice mail to please txt or email me since I dont bother checking voice mail.
So you know my battery life is great txting and emails dont kill battery and the only thing I worry about is,when im playing games on it or heavily browsing....usually I get a nice 15 hours with intermidiate usage....

thanks guys! really you just reassured me here.. btw i should adopt that voice mail message to have people texting or emailing me! LOL making/recieving calls is the least important feature that i need in smartphones..

LOL true besides when you're at meetings or busy at work its easier to email your co workers back

Battery also drains faster over speaker I have noticed when making voice calls.

Overall though satisfied with it.

I didn't know battery drains fast over speaker. I leave my phone on speaker most the time with my girlfriend.
