Atrocious backlight bleed

I'm sick of ASUS's Taiwanese garbage. Does an ASUS screen without backlight bleeding even exist? It's hilarious because my Sero 7 Pro has no backlight bleed whatsoever. ASUS can't even manage that kind of QA. I'm already weeping for anyone who would actually buy their upcoming 4K monitors. Look forward to your two or three corners of horrible bleeding.

Can you post a pic of the Sero so we can see the comparison?

I have a little light bleed at the very top middle, but it doesn't bother me at all. I can only see it when the screen is completely dark. That rarely is the case.

I don't see much signs of light bleed at all on my 2013 N7. My old N7 did have a problem though.

Mine has it along the top, but it only shows when the screen is dark. Doesn't bother me 2 bad. No dead pixels and is butter smooth w/ no hiccups. Id rather keep this unit than risk an exchange w/ a unit that may have other issues. No device will make everyone happy.

PS - I dont feel Asus makes garbage at all. I've used Asus motherboards exclusively since the 90's as well as various other products from them and never had a problem w/ any of them. I've been very lucky. I hope this trend will continue w/ my Nexus 7 2.

That would annoy the hell out of me, my current Nexus 7 [12'] has a bit of light bleed, and while most of the time its easy to ignore I'm still wondering why I should have to put up with it in the first place.

My original 2012 Nexus 7 had light bleed all around the edges but I never saw it except at boot up.

My new 2013 Nexus 7 has absolutely no sign of light bleed. This screen is incredible. I'd like to know the screen manufacturer.

Ouch.
That's the kind of LightBleed I had on my Nexus-10 back in December.. I took it back on the 10th day and got the iPad Mini I still have to this day.. The Mini and my Nexus-7 2013 have Zero LightBleed.. You got a really bad one dude.. I am sure you will have better luck than that should you decide to exchange your current one.

That really sucks, but truth is most displays have problems. Backlight bleed happens with lcd type displays, black splotches occur on amoled displays. Nothing is perfect at this point, but it's slowly getting better. As for your nexus 7, I would replace the device. It's typical to have a little bit of backlight bleed, but that's too much.

What's the best way to get your screen dark like that to check for backlight bleed? And by bleed you mean the white spots around the edge?

I have light bleed....but slightly, and only at boot-up. During normal operation of the tablet, I've looked very closely for it, but I never see it.

I haven't noticed any light bleed issues with either of my N7's (1st & 2nd gen). It's probably there, but I haven't gone looking for it, and I've never noticed it in normal usage. This seems like the kind of thing that VERY few people will notice in normal usage, but a select few go looking for problems, and when looking hard enough, can find them. I fail to see how this tiny bit of light bleed makes the product "garbage".

Have no idea if i have light bleed. I dont go looking for it. Have no idea if i have any cosmetic defects. I dont whip out a microscope and go looking for those, either.
