Att 4g lte icon

I have an ATT note 3 and have never seen 4G LTE icon at the top of the screen. Tech support states some phones can be on LTE and it will only show 4G on the screen. Is this true? I live in Cincinnati,OH which has 4G LTE and have never seen 4G LTE on the screen. a screenshot would be nice so I could send it to ATT tech support if they are wrong.

Hmmm... I don't know mine switches 4G to 4G LTE throughout the day depending on the network. Are you by chance using an old SIM card?

The ATT store looked at the sim and they said it was OK. I spoke with tech support today and they logged on to the phone remotely and things checked out. He also checked to see if I was connected to a 4G LTE tower. His guess was the tower may have a lot of traffic and it switched me to 4G. He also checked out the provisioning. I am going to see what happens in other areas. If I do not get 4G LTE then I want another phone.

It'd be good if you had a friend or family member with a contemporary AT&T that you could compare to.

I plan to go to Bestbuy or some other store that has an ATT note 3 and see if it has LTE displayed.

I went back to the AT&T store and had them replace the sim. I now have LTE. YEAH!!!!!!

I have seen 4LTE show up but only infrequently. Hadn't paid attention to that so don't know what I'm missing. Maybe the towers near me don't have that signal? Is there a way to know, an app that list the signal strength _and_ type?

Speed test app By ookla. If you're not getting 20+ Mbps then its not LTE.

I am seeing 4G LTE since yesterday. Still on 4.4.4 OS. So possibly AT has made an upgrade on the local tower (s)?

I never get 20 Mbps where I live even with full service LTE lol small town in Alabama
