That's ridiculous. They are following Verizon's terrible example. I understand companies not wanting ETF's to be exploitable, but their rate of pro-rating ETF's doesn't seem much less criminal then it was when they didn't pro-rate. Sprint's not bad with a decent ETF and a fair pro-rate. They bumped their fee up, and bumped the rate of pro-rate which I believe is/was 5$ a month, and is now 10$ or 3% a month. I think the FCC needs to step in and block generalized fees. The ETF should be based on the actual phone you bought. One size never fits all.
The ETF shouldn't be allowed to be more than the amount of the subsidy. I am also opposed to the fact that everyone buy sprint charges the same for service whether your phone is subsidized or not. The idea, afaik, is that the subsidy is worked into the monthly fee to use the phone, so why are we paying the same out of contract.
