You think paying an extra $10 a month is bad for premium data try spending $325 to break your contract with ATT. Good luck iPhone 4G people trying to switch to the EVO in July and August.

Guess, its time for people to decide. Wait for the new iPhone or dump AT&T now with a lower ETF and explore other options.

I lost my iPhone so I was always going to pay the ETF rather than full price for a new one.

Haven't heard of this. They must have recently changed it, and I imagine it only applies to new accounts (you should be grandfathered in at the $275 ETF that goes down by $5 every month you're in contract).

That's ridiculous. They are following Verizon's terrible example. I understand companies not wanting ETF's to be exploitable, but their rate of pro-rating ETF's doesn't seem much less criminal then it was when they didn't pro-rate. Sprint's not bad with a decent ETF and a fair pro-rate. They bumped their fee up, and bumped the rate of pro-rate which I believe is/was 5$ a month, and is now 10$ or 3% a month. I think the FCC needs to step in and block generalized fees. The ETF should be based on the actual phone you bought. One size never fits all.

The ETF shouldn't be allowed to be more than the amount of the subsidy. I am also opposed to the fact that everyone buy sprint charges the same for service whether your phone is subsidized or not. The idea, afaik, is that the subsidy is worked into the monthly fee to use the phone, so why are we paying the same out of contract.
