Question Attaching audio files to texts

Up until about two weeks ago I was able to attach audio files as large as 5 MB to my text messages on Samsung's Messaging app. (Phone is a Galaxy A15). Now the same app when I try to attach the very same file tells me it can't attach because I have exceeded the file size. Why could I do this before but now I can't?

These limits are usually set/pushed by your carrier, but you can also try to check the MMS Attachment Size limits in the Messages app's Settings in case it got changed.

Welcome to Android Central! Perhaps you were able to send large files in the past using Samsung Messages because it was still able to use RCS (which can handle larger attachments). But recently, Samsung decided to make Google Messages the default, and although Samsung Messages is still available for installation, it seems that RCS is no longer accessible via Samsung Messages -- you'd have to use Google Messages.
