ATTN: ALL EVO OWNERS!!! Urgent!!!

Why, I mean really tell me WHY?? I don't know why people make it a big deal. What HAVE sprint done to make android any better, or make anything good for android. Last time i looked at the android market, the devs make the android app and games. Sprint doesn't even make anything, they just put up a Sprint tab in that market. Android is backed by HTC, moto, dell, and all the devs, plus Google. They don't need sprint to do anything with android, just provide us with updates. Yes webOS should be there main concern and focus on. That's the os hat is a great os and always have crappy hardware. HP PALM needs all the support it can get to help keep them in the game.

I agree with what you say, but also I would like them to continue to push out these android updates in a timely fashion... I mean yes it would be great if all of the OS's could be top priority and updates came like the wind ( or better yet weren't needed) but hey, the world ain't perfect. Also Sprint does choose which hardware it carries and I (my opinion) would like to see more of these superphones show up rather than all the low end options.

I think it has become apparent that the development community has a huge part in a OS's success and acceptability. So whom ever has the most high quality, useful apps will probably take the cake in the long run...

This isn't about Evo its all about Android, this is the typical Pre community stunt they do out of desperation to give themselfs a pat on the back to make them feel go about their failed devices. Sprint knows buy sales alone what OS to support and Android has the numbers prove it. I feel no need to participate in this little poll trolling Pre community poll game...after all they need something to feel good about...polls.

It doesn't matter to me what device or OS Sprint should focus on. I use what I like. Currently two Android devices and a WinMo device.

I seriously doubt that WebOS poll is accurate. Had a Pre and dumped it for Android...
.

No worries. Phone sales will dictate their focus. The poll is nice, but it is really non-scientific and Sprint will not put more focus on WebOS than Android. Even with the next gen WebOS phones, Android will still out sell them. Open platform and multiple manufactures. No way palm/HP can compete. Besides, Palm is only looking for a small piece of the pie.

I agree. I came across that poll in a thread over at PreCentral - as a former Pre diehard I still follow it on occasion. When I saw the poll results I laughed. Brainerd is right - Sprint will put their emphasis on what they think will sell the most for them and such a poll is irrelevant to the business guys making those decisions. WebOS is a nice OS but I don't see any Palm/HP product being a major player in the marketplace anytime soon, if ever.

This isn't that urgent at all, but since all you are good people, I will leave this thread alone :)

i hope Sprint learned their lesson and are smart enough to focus on Android and not waste any resources on WebOS products. no need to waste any resources or shelf space. Sprint doesn't need webOS.

I can't vote from my phone.
No button shows up.

From my HTC EVO using Tapatalk pro.

I voted for Palm simply because webOS has the potential to be pretty much the best smartphone operating system out there. As it stands now, however, it's hobbled by second-rate hardware and third-rate marketing, but if the carriers stand behind it, then perhaps HP will take notice and pour the necessary resources into developing the right hardware and building a developer-friendly community, and thus give webOS a fighting chance to take its rightful place next to Android and the iPhone as one of the premier smartphone platforms.

Don't get me wrong, so far I'm absolutely loving my Evo, but I can't help but find myself longing for webOS's elegant multitasking, integrated email inbox, more effective notification system, intuitive gestures, cohesive UI...

Regards,
Adam

Sprint would be dumb to not get in line with Android as quickly as possible. They are getting there but not as quick as Verizon.
