Very interesting. I suffered from this with my originally purchased Pixel. Because it was still under warranty I sent it to Google and they sent me a replacement device which i always assumed to be refurbished as there were screen issues when viewing in the dark (some spots appeared lighter than others). Regardless I kept the device and just recently it died on its own (motherboard crash).
