Audible Selection sounds

I have a strange problem. I recently replaced my audible selection sound(the sound when you click items on screen) using Root explorer, as I could not get adb to remount my sdcard(kept giving me an operation not permitted). Now, the sound only works every so often, and completely randomly.

I know people who have done this and they have had no problems. What did I do wrong?

Running JRummy 5.0.9, FRF84b, before anyone asks.
