Audio enhancement app

I've turned into a teenanger and started using my Nexus as a music player. However the sound seems really tinny via Google Play music, any suggestions for an app to act as an equaliser to get a better more realistic sound, as it never seems poor via the speakers when watching YouTube.

I have not tried alternate earphones, however. These are Creative Labs earphones.

The Nexus 6 doesn't give you an Equalizer option in the Google Play Music settings? I can see it in my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6P.

I like VLC. It has a built in equalizer.

For the files I have on my device that I've added from my personal collection that are FLAC format, I use HibyMusic along with a USB OTG adapter and a FiiO DAC.

LOL, don't feel bad! Hopefully the built-in EQ works well enough for you.

I adapted it tonight before I left work and it made a difference. Thanks for the other suggestions folks, but I uploaded my music to save space on the phone, plus give me the opportunity to hear more music than what I normally would
