When my phone is connected to my car (2014 toyota RAV4) and i am listening to audio (i.e. pocketcast) and I get a call, the audio does stop for the phone ring but when I pick up, the audio begins to play again during the phone call and the pocketcast app disappears from the notification bar also so I cannot stop it manually. Please note that the podcasts I listen to are not streaming, they are pre-downloaded. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Is this a Lollipop bug?

I've run into this with Pocket Casts on 4.3, 4.4 and 5.0 on my Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Moto X, so I don't think it's a bug in any particular version of Android. I also never run into it with Google Play Music (or Spotify/Rdio when I used to use those). I've reported it to Pocket Casts and they've never been able to fix it.

Odd thing is this it doesn't always do it. Sometimes, with pocket casts, it works properly.

Yup, same behavior I've seen for a while. I've found that it happens less often when a podcast is downloaded but it still happens occasionally. It will basically always happen if you take a call, hang up, then get another call before the podcast starts playing again. I went back and forth with ****fy Jelly sending them logs and all that but they weren't able to figure it out and basically said it seems to be an issue only I'm having. I'd highly recommend you two contact them and let them know you're having the issue too so they may put some effort into fixing it.
