Audio quality on recorded videos in a loud environment

Greetings all...

I am suddenly considering a Rezound (before the new data plans hit), and want to see if the audio quality on videos recorded in a loud setting is decent?

For example, I have an Incredible, and my friend has an iPhone4. Last year, our wives recorded a song from a show we were playing (decent sized club, loud rock music). They were literally standing side by side for this.

The audio on the video from my phone was just garbled and clipped distorted noise, and his was halfway decent to listen to. You could hear individual words and notes on his video, and mine sounded wind noise played through a blown speaker. Completely night and day difference between the two...I was quite sad, as I love my Incredible.

I assume the Incredible had no way to compensate the mic gain in a loud setting, so it was all just clipped noise, where my friend's iPhone was able to compensate.

Has this issue been resolved at all with the Rezound?

On a side note...my wife's Droid takes about 2x better pics in medium lighting than my Incredible...I assume this is much improved in the Rezound?

Thanks!

The specific issue I ran into was the mic input clipping in really loud environments.

Hoping something (hardware, Sense, the base OS) has resolved this by now?

I didn't have that issue. The only issue I would have in a loud environment is the noise cancellation will make things like voices kind of quiet. If I am not mistaken you can buy the Rezound and return it within 30days if you don't like it.

My Incredible was my first Android (had several Blackberry's previously), and my wife's Droid is my only other hands-on with an Android phone (I do NOT like the UI on that thing).

My only drawbacks with it have been:

- Poor battery life (Seido extended battery fixed this)
- Loud environment (concert) video recordings = 100% clipped audio
- Camera in dim or medium light produces noise and artifacts (image quality on-par with my Samsung flip phone from 6 years ago)
- Signal reception is a bit weaker than the Droid. I usually get 1 or 2 bars less when sitting side by side, or will drop to 1x while she retains 3G (our house is on the edge of 3G range)

Was not planning on upgrading this year, but with the new pricing structure about to hit, I figure I better do it now. Trying to decide on the Rezound or a different phone (a Samsung or Motorola maybe, but I just can't force myself to get an iPhone)
