Go to settings >type installed unknown apps and turn it off for Notes

The point is I do not want any unknown apps installed. But this also means I can no longer access the records in my notes. So if some one wants to keep the data you need to move it out of Samsungs app before you do the update.

Thats where you would disable unknown apps, I still can access all my notes with it off .

Are you running the new "pushed" ver 4.0 or the old 3.5. And BTW I have all install unknown apps set to not allowed including samsung notes. When I try to view a note I get a pop-up saying "to view this note, you need to install the sammsung notes add-on" and when you hit install you get a new pop "your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source".
This just started with the new pushed update from samsung.

Just do the update and install the add-on. Everything will be fine.

I updated mine about a week ago and runs just fine. Old and new notes.
