August Update

They have started to roll out the monthly software update for Aug 2024. All supported Pixel devices running Android 14 will receive these software updates starting today, and the rollout will continue over the next week in phases.

ETA: I thought we were getting Android 15 next week? I had planned to do my yearly reset prior thinking it would come in as one bundle... And FYI I had checked prior to seeing the post and it was not there. P8P FI unlocked in Texas USA.

ETA 2: spoke too soon, it just dropped on me.

I had heard it was coming out the same day as the P9: Aug 13th. Not sure if that is still true tho.

After wading through umpteen million P9 news, I saw that they were releasing at least one more beta update to Android 15 so it may end up being October as is the norm. I thought they were going to put it in the P9s but they did not.

Anyone try zoom enhance? Just got it on my 8pro. Doesn't seem to work very well on faces but I had some decent results on other objects.

Same experience here. Faces don't show up great, but scenery, buildings, etc. come out pretty darned good.

Hopefully Google will tweak it so it's better for faces in a future update.
