Authentication error in device communication protocol

I have an ATT Note 5 which I have been told by an app team: "The phone fails to execute a successful sync due to an authentication error within the device communication protocol."
The notification "device is connected wifi network ***" is fairly frequently flashed on the screen, Google frequently can't reach it's server and says retry(I have cleared the G cache and phones cache). Then this app won't do it's thing because of that reported fault.
Anyone know how to fix this?

The Glooko app used with a metersync cable. I also have frequent Google try again notices, and today the Oculus app was giving a can't download data check your connection notices. The "connected to wireless network ****" notice flashes on the screen all the time like it's disconnecting and reconnecting. I updated the firmware on the router, cleared device cache. Just seems to have connection problems intermittently.
Thanks
